Programs
Casa y Comunidad (Home and Community Program): is an Asset-building initiative that provides low-income families with a number of homeownership and wealth building services including, Financial Counseling, and education, Foreclosure prevention and mitigation, pre-purchase consultation, Credit counseling Saving programs such as IDA, and free Tax Preparation programs.
Los Conectores (The Connectors program): Los Conectores (The Connectors) is a capacity building and leadership program that prepares faith-based leaders to be active leaders in their community by acting as a bridge to fill the gap between their congregations and the community they serve.
Elderly Program: This program targets low-income elders in our communities to learn, have knowledge, and engage in activities as a group such as health education, financial mentorship for younger generation, arts & crafts, building healthy relationships, and others. The Mortgage Default Toll Free Line (1-877-43-FAITH): The Mortgage Default toll free line is a customized phone counseling program designed for faith-based institutions to refer homeowners who are either delinquent on their mortgage or facing foreclosure. The toll free line connects families with a local experienced foreclosure counselor who provides phone counseling and/or referral services to an HUD approved housing counseling agency located near the client.
Free Tax Preparation Program: The VITA program delivers successful free tax preparation programs for low-income communities in the state of Maryland & Massachusetts. In addition to providing free tax preparation assistance, CAF also helps eligible families access the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Child Tax Credit (CTC). CAF also connects families with asset building programs available in the community while providing money management workshops for families that receive the tax preparatin services.
Homeownership Program: CAF ‘s Homebuying Program provides families with the tools and information they need to become sustainable homeowners. The program offers educational seminars and one-on-one counseling sessions with our professional housing counselors. Our program helps families assess and understand their credit report, choose a mortgage, learn about budgeting, saving and how to access down payment and legal assistance programs available in the state.
