Centro de Apoyo Familiar (CAF) is involved in many events thought out the year , mostly associated with Partners, supporters and volunteers to bring information and solution to the community. Hundreds of people have taken advantages of these events.  At the same time CAF is getting the inside on how we can help and meet the need of our communities.  

One of our most successful event have been the Casa and community fair celebrated in Silver spring MD and in Lawrence MA.   Working closely with banks and community leaders, we met people in risk to lose their houses. There were able to get information and help. Most important, hundred have been able to modify theirs mortgages and keep their houses while keeping the American dream alive.

 

CAF have also had a series of breakfast meeting to connect with communities’ leaders to gather information.  We meet a select group of prominent Latino Faith Based leaders in the New England  and DC metro area to help CAF to shape a strategy by reaching and connecting the Latino community with the resources, information, training and tools available in the communities they serve.

The input gathered has been essential in developing an effective and realistic system for a nationwide collaboration that meets the needs of the Faith Based Community. In order to achieve our goals, CAF will have a forum through which clergy and other faith-based leaders can provide inputs and discuss the challenges and needs of their congregations and communities, so CAF can better support them. The breakfast concluded with a call to action session.
