Centro de Apoyo Familiar (CAF) is a non-profit organization committed to building healthy communities by providing social service referrals, counseling and support services, and opportunities for economic empowerment to Latino families.

Welcome to Centro de Apoyo Familiar (CAF)

Dear Clients, Friends and Supporters of CAF, We are delighted that you are visiting our website. I am proud to introduce to you our organization, a non-profit agency serving the Latino community. Our mission is to serve as a clearinghouse of information for social and housing related services. Our areas of expertise are housing, homeownership and foreclosure prevention. Following our mission, we have redirected our services to provide one-on-one counseling, case management, loan modification and refinancing and referrals to help ameliorate the current economic crisis in the housing industry. To support our community, we embrace the “Make Home Affordable Program,” a comprehensive initiative announced by the Obama Administration which will allow millions of distressed homeowners to modify or refinance their mortgage loans at no cost. As the last segment of the U.S. population to become investors as homeowners, Latinos have also been the ones severely affected by sub-prime, predatory and abusive lenders.

Now more than ever, we realize how important it is to have accurate and timely information. Now that foreclosure rates at the national and state levels are in the double digits, Latinos need to sort out not only how to avoid foreclosure after being victimized by predatory lenders, but figure out who to trust to “modify” or “refinance” their mortgages to avoid becoming victims of loan fraud. Our approach is two-fold; we work directly with consumers and we assist other providers who are committed to serving this important market for the long term through outreach and technical assistance. The benchmark for the success of our work has been through the formidable support of faith partners. We thank them. Our foundation and corporate benefactors make it possible for us to provide the services free of charge. We are truly grateful.
